Precious Plastic meets Comas – #NoComasPlástico!

Alrededor del mundo, todas las ciudades tenemos el mismo problema: el consumo excesivo de plásticos de un solo uso. Por qué no comenzar a verlo como una materia prima en la industria del diseño?
Bajo el lema “Make it precious” – o en español “Hazlo precioso”- este grupo de ingenieros y di-señadores, liderados por Dave Hakkens, lograron llevar -en tan solo un año- el proyecto “Precious Plastic” a un nuevo nivel. Adaptaron una nave industrial en Eindhoven para convertirlo en un campo de experimentación. Crearon nuevas máquinas y productos para introducir un modelo de negocio en base a plásticos, el cual es replicable en cualquier parte del mundo.
La versión mejorada que presentó este grupo a inicios del 2020, busca entusiasmar y enseñar a cómo llevar una producción a pequeña y mediana escala. Empoderando así a comunidades a hacer un cambio positivo con sus propias manos y sacarle provecho a cada plástico posible para reducir al mismo tiempo su impacto negativo en el ambiente.
Reciclaje.pe se suma a esta gran comunidad en colaboración con la Municipalidad distrital de Comas con el proyecto #NoComasPlástico. Vicente Varella, del equipo de diseño de “Precious Plastic”, nos visitó en diciembre del año pasado ¡Mira aquí el video de su experiencia!

Around the world, all cities have the same problem: excessive consumption of single-use plastics. Why not to start looking at it as a raw material within the design industry?
Under the motto „Make it precious“ – or in Spanish „Hazlo precioso“ – this group of engineers and designers, led by Dave Hakkens, managed to bring -in just one year- the project „Precious Plastic“ to a new level. They adapted an industrial hall in Eindhoven to turn it into an experimentation space. They created new machines and products to introduce a business model based on plastics, which is replicable anywhere in the world.
The enhanced version presented by this group in early 2020, aims to motivate and teach how to lead small and medium-scale production. Thus, empowering communities to make a positive change with their own hands, and take advantage of every possible plastic while reducing its negative impact on the environment.
Reciclaje.pe joins this great community in collaboration with the Comas District Municipality with the # NoComasPlástico project. Vicente Varella, from the “Precious Plastic” design team, visited us in December last year. Watch here the video of his experience!
